The conference will cover all main topics related to trichinellosis and its causative agents of the genus Trichinella, including biology, taxonomy and phylogeny, genomics and proteomics, epidemiology of human and animal infections, pathogenesis and immunology, and detection and diagnostic approaches.
The conference logo refers to the lenticular, spindle-shaped layout of Košice Main Street, formed by a bifurcated branch of the Čermeľ Stream in the Middle Ages. This created an island in the middle of the street, where the city’s most valuable buildings are located, including the cathedral, chapel, bell tower, and theatre. To those of us working with Trichinella, its shape resembles that of a Trichinella nurse cell.
